Academic Staff of Parasitology

The department of Parasitology has been active in education, research, laboratory diagnosis services and consulting in the field of parasitic  diseases. This department has trained and educated numerous  students who are rendering their services in various locations. Academic staff of the department are responsible for teaching courses in  parasitology such as helminths, protozoa and arthropoda.
The department aims at teaching and training, research into protozoan, helminthes and arthropods diseases using classical and molecular methods. At present the section of parasitology has 4 faculty members and 10 students at Ph.D. level and 8 students at MSc level.

Research Interests :

  • Research in Veterinary helminthology, immunoregulation by helminthes, and molecular helminthology.
  • Current projects involve Study of Anthelminthic resistance gastrointestinal helminth of Iran, Immunoregulation by helminth parasite in Asthma and Molecular epidemiology of Trichinella and hydatidosis.

  • Determination of frequency, and molecular characterization of animal and human parasites (plathyhelminthes and protozoa) according to different climate conditions.
  • Investigation the effect of various herbal and chemical compounds on parasited (plathyhelminthes and protozoa) and monitoring of drug resistance in parasitic diseases
  •  Study of proteomics and genomics of parasites
