In this department, the academic members carry out intensive scientific research with a number of highly equipped laboratories including:
Pathology, immunology, bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology and cell culture.
They also take care of the necessary educational back up. Apart from their educational and research activities, the laboratories offer service to the public by doing autopsy and laboratory examination of the samples submitted to the clinic.
Biotechnology laboratory has been established as part of the expansion and provision of research and training in the field of veterinary biotechnology. At present, the department offers M.Sc. & PhD. programs for veterinary parasitology, bacteriology, and Ph.D.program for biotechnology and D.V.Sc. program for veterinary Histopathology. and also M.Sc program for Immunology.
